Nordhalbkugel, Frankreich bis Nordmeer, nicht Nord- und Ostsee
Auf beiden Seiten des Nordatlantiks sowie an der Westküste der USA vorkommende Art. Im Ärmelkanal und rund um die Britischen Inseln, jedoch wohl keine Funde in der inneren Nordsee, dem Kattegat oder der Ostsee.
