Abundance	no records of this species , Distribution map
Distribution	Nordhalbkugel, Frankreich bis Nordkap, Nord- und Ostseeküste Nordamerika, eingeschleppt in Eurasien, hier verbreitet von Ostsibirien bis Westeuropa. Von den Pyrenäen bis zum Nordkap, auch auf den Britischen Inseln und an allen Küsten der Nord- und Ostsee. Auf den meisten Inseln, vereinzelt auch auf Außensänden und im Watt anzutreffen, da sehr gut schwimmend.
